Do you need to know how to make your Instagram profile private?

Instagram is a hugely popular social media platform for sharing your photos with friends, but for some people, you may not want to have all of your photos out in the open for just anyone to see. If you want some privacy and don’t want anyone and everyone seeing your photos, you can make your Instagram profile private, so you’ll have to accept people individually and allow them to see the photos that you share. To find out how to make your Instagram private, keep reading!

How to make your Instagram profile private…

Instagram is a great social media platform to share your photos with friends and family, but since there are over 100 million Instagram Users, chances are you don’t know all of them and don’t want all 100 million of them to see your photos.

Fortunately, you can make your Instagram profile private so that you have some control over your privacy and who is allowed to see your photos that you post.

Making your Instagram private means that you’ll have to approve each person who’s allowed to see your photos, so this is a great option for anyone concerned about their privacy on Instagram.

Follow along and I’ll show you how to set your Instagram profile to private.

To make your Instagram profile private;

  1. Open the Instagram app
  2. Tap on the Profile button on the bottom menu bar as shown below – the icon looks like a contact card.Instagram Profile Tab Button Privacy Private Setting
  3. Tap ‘Edit Your Profile’ as highlighted in red in the screen below.Instagram Edit Your Profile Private Privacy
  4. Scroll to the bottom of your profile page, you’ll see an option called ‘Photos Are Private’. Slide the button to the ‘ON’ position to make your profile private.Instagram Edit Your Profile Privacy Setting Option Box
  5. Now, your Instagram profile will be listed as private, so when someone searches for you, they’ll see a screen like the one below. In order for them to see your photos, they will have to request access by tapping the ‘Follow’ button, and when they do, you’ll be notified so you can either approve or deny them. Once you approve someone, they will then be able to see all of the photos you post.Instagram This Profile Is Private
