Do you want to know how to clear search history on Instagram?

It’s no secret that Instagram is one of my favorite forms of social media, and I’ve written articles here before about how to sign up for Instagram, how to tag someone on Instagram, and how to search on Instagram, but one thing I haven’t covered yet is how to clear search history on Instagram. So read on and I’ll show you how it’s done!

How to clear search history on Instagram…

Instagram will save your most recent search terms for you to make it easy to go back and perform the same search over again if you want to, but how do you clear your search history if you want to wipe out any trace of what you’ve been searching for?

There is no easy to find ‘clear history’ button on the search page, but follow along with my step by step tutorial below and I’ll show you just how easy it is to clear your search history on Instagram if you know where that button is hiding!

To clear search history on Instagram:

  1. Open the Instagram app
  2. Tap on the Profile button on the bottom right of the menu bar as shown below – the icon looks like a contact card.Instagram Profile Tab Button Privacy Private Setting
  3. Tap on the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen next to your user name to open the options menu.Instagram Option Setting Button Icon Gear
  4. Tap on “Clear Search HistoryClear Search History Instagram
  5. Tap “Yes, I’m sure” to confirm that you want to clear your search history.Confirm Clear Search History Instagram

And that’s it! That’s all there is to clearing your search history on Instagram. It’s not that difficult once you know where the button is hiding!
